Radiology The Examination

A Sonographer (Ultrasound technician) and Radiologist will be involved in your examination.

The patient needs to remove clothing above the waist.

The Sonographer uses the ultrasound transducer to create images which detail anatomy and function of cardiac structures. Assessment includes wall motion and valve function.

This echocardiogram is painless and acoustic output representing doppler detected flow is heard during the examination.

An Echocardiogram takes 45 - 60 minutes.
There are no side effects from this examination.
